Anything goes, as long as it is about the Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor

So this is an official diagram of the proposed F-22B two seat aircraft before it was canceled and the test aircraft orders were converted to F-22A. Came from a book scan that got the image from Lockheed Martin and USAF.

So it’s the same overall dimensions as F-22A, but the bigger canopy required a brace in the middle. Would have been nice to sit in the back seat of one of these. :D

How far did the test aircraft get? Did they have an actual two seat forward fusalage?

I read that a mockup was built but no actual aircraft, apparently the 9th and 10th F-22 were supposed to be two seat B model before it was canceled and the orders were converted into single seat.

The F-22B would have same capabilities as single seat F-22A except for reduced range because the second cockpit seat takes the spot of a fuel tank.

So the same as on the F-16, where there is a 2000lbs fuel tank right behind the A cockpit, where the back seat goes in the family model.

The F-22B is just a two-seat version of the F-22A and has same performance and capabilities just with a bit less range since it trades a fuel tank for a second cockpit seat. It's different from the FB-22 which would have much bigger delta wings for more fuel and can support bigger LO weapon pods to increase payload so that it can replace the F-15E. Otherwise I don't think the base F-22A/B design has enough payload to be able to replace the Strike Eagle.

Here is another diagram, a low resolution scan. Again showing that the F-22B's bigger canopy requires a brace in the middle. Unfortunate it's hard to find higher resolution images and drawings.
